Kimberly & Barrett. What a fabulous fun loving couple!! These two make us smile. We love how they enjoy the sweet simplicity of being with each other, laughing and playing…whether cozy at home or soaking in the warm sunshine on a boat…they know how to make the most of their time together. Kimberly is a stunning beauty and also a killer chef. We’ve heard we need to get to Memphis to try her cooking goodness!  So thrilled she found her prince in Barrett. We had a ball getting to capture their engagement photos in the gorgeous Nashville countryside.  So cannot wait to shoot their wedding in November!

We had been keeping our special news a little secret from our family so we could surprise them in person on our Outer Banks vacation.  Thanks to our friend Nick Baumhardt for recommending this clever announcement idea.  We were all shaking with nervousness leading up to the revealing moment and were so happy our buds Zach & Jody Gray could capture it all on video.  Our mom’s reaction was priceless!!!  Enjoy!!

Not sure there are adequate words to express the fulfillment one feels after serving at a Help-Portrait event. The countless faces that all have a name and a story tug on your inner heart strings. Help-Portrait is a worldwide event of photographers, make up artists, stylists and anyone and everyone giving their time, talents and donations to help people in need. Bringing people hope through a photo, loving on them and listening to their stories is nothing short of…Beautiful. Powerful. Life-changing. Hearing people’s stories of starting a new life, gaining custody of their children again, getting off drugs and how the Help-Portrait event put a smile on their face and gave them a sense of dignity is overwhelmingly awesome.  Through giving, you receive back so much more than you could have ever dreamed of.  It all started with an idea by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart for photographers to give back to the local community by finding someone in need, taking their portrait and giving them that portrait. One of the avenues they’ve created to bless people in need in a tangible way is through Help-Portrait.  Help-Portrait is a worldwide annual event where photographers, make up artists, hair stylists, and countless volunteers come together in their local communities to offer their talents and energy to serve and give people in need an opportunity to feel beautiful and a sense of dignity by having their portrait professionally taken. Hearing these people’s stories will leave you with a full heart.  YOU can be a part of Help-Portrait too as it’s happening on December 10, 2011!
